Jaras Productions is a company based in Dubai, UAE.

It was founded in 2006 by Ghia Haddad, a mother of three, to produce quality books and music for children in both Arabic and English. The aim of Jaras Productions is to fill a need in the Arab speaking world to provide children with interesting, fun and educational tools to function in a bi-lingual environment. It also seeks to help new-comers to the Arabic language learn it in a simple and attractive way.

Jaras Productions is also dedicated to raising social awareness among children through books and music. National Pride, Peace, Friendship and Human Rights being some of the ideas brought to light through high quality entertainment.

We pride ourselves in being the first provider of resources for families and educators searching for high caliber educational and entertaining bi-lingual tools. Our intention is to develop the experiences of children in the Arabic speaking world to highlight important linguistic skills and increase cultural and social awareness.

Our first project, “the Red Balloon” is a series of 6 audio CDs, 3 in Arabic and 3 in English. The CDs feature songs for children 2 years to 6 years, 7 years to 12 years, and evening sleepy music. The Arabic and English CDs can be used in pairs to expose the child to the same song in two languages, or separately, for single language use.

The songs in “the Red Balloon” are performed by Ghia Haddad and Jacqueline Birkett, mothers of young children themselves. They are set to popular tunes from the public domain and some original music.
